Document protection – CyberMagister Obex

Confidential documents delivered to people you do not control, without losing sight of them: you know who reads them, you can withdraw them, and every copy carries the name of whoever made it.

The challenge

An expert report, a business plan, a tender specification, a penetration test report: sooner or later they have to go to someone outside the organisation — a consultant, a board of directors, a counterparty in a negotiation, a client. With an email attachment, a second after sending you no longer know who read it, you cannot withdraw it if the deal falls through, and whoever forwards it leaves no trace. Obex delivers the document for protected reading: every opening is recorded, access can be revoked when needed, and spreading it becomes harder and always traceable. It does not promise the impossible — a photo of the screen remains possible — but that photo carries the name of whoever took it.

Who it is for

Professional firms, management teams, legal and procurement departments, consulting and security firms that deliver confidential documents to external recipients: consultants, board members, counterparties, clients.

What you get

Who read what, and when

Every opening and every page read goes into the log: you know which recipient opened the document, when and how far they got, instead of hoping the attachment reached the right person.

Withdrawable at any time

The deal falls through, the consultant changes role: access is revoked and the document stops opening. Pages already read stay read; the next ones are no longer delivered.

A watermark with the reader's name

Every page shows the identity of whoever is reading it: a copy in circulation, even a photographed one, tells you where it came from.

The more confidential the document, the tighter the delivery

Confidentiality levels decide how a document is read: below a threshold the link is enough, above it a named recipient is required, confirmed with a one-time code. The organisation sets the threshold, and changing a document's level requires a reason that stays on record.

Black screen on capture, where the device allows it

On compatible devices and browsers, a screenshot or screen recording captures a black box instead of the page. Where that is not possible, protection relies on the watermark and the log — and the owner can decide that the most confidential documents are only readable on compatible devices.

No account for the reader

The recipient gets a link and reads in the browser, without signing up or installing anything; for those who need it there is also reading as an accessible PDF, with the same page-by-page rules. Inside the organisation roles are distinct: who uploads and classifies, who distributes and revokes, who reviews the logs.
