Custom software development

Applications built around your process, when no off-the-shelf solution mirrors it.
The challenge
Every company has a part of its work that no commercial software anticipates: what sets you apart from competitors is, almost by definition, exactly what generalist solutions do not cover. It is usually held together with spreadsheets and email threads, or else the process is bent to fit the tool, losing precisely what was working. Custom development starts from the opposite end: first we understand how you really work, then we build the software around you, with the scope written down before anything begins.
Who it is for
Companies with a process that will not fit a standard solution, anyone needing systems that today ignore each other to start talking, and anyone who wants a tailored part added to an application already in use.
What you get
- The scope agreed in writing before development: what the software will do and what it will not.
- Interim releases you can try while the work is under way, instead of a single delivery at the end.
- The documentation needed to use the application and to evolve it, including with somebody else.
- Ownership of what is developed and maintenance terms set out in the contract, not deferred to the end of the project.
- Post-release support directly from our in-house team, Monday to Friday.
How we work
First we understand the process
We start from how you work today, including the exceptions nobody mentions at the first meeting. The result is a written scope and an estimate: this is the moment when it is decided whether the project makes sense, and it comes before it costs anything.
We build in pieces you can see
The work proceeds in short releases, each one testable by you. The point is to surface misunderstandings early — there always are some — while fixing them costs a week rather than a project.
It goes live with people alongside
Going live includes bringing existing data across and standing beside the people who will use the application: software nobody knows how to use is as idle as software never delivered.
Then it keeps changing
An application that carries your process has to follow it when it changes. Ongoing evolution is part of the agreement, not a negotiation to reopen every time a change is needed.
